"The whiter the bread, the shorter the life"

Right after World War II, when people were coming out of famine and starvation, food took a shift toward a different dimension. More specifically, people indulged in the luxury of “white” in food. White sugar, white flour, white rice etc. This whitening is a chemical procedure that involves aluminum potassium salt sulfate (used in tanning and as an hemostatic also), ammonia and gypsum.
So what if Dr. Carlson, of the University of Chicago referred to the whitewashing of flour as "industrial stupidity when there is always a scientist in a high governmental position who will attest that "none of these procedures are dangerous and are followed in all countries because consumers prefer white produce". Truly, only white things blend together such as, white flour, white sugar, doctors in white uniforms in whitewashed hospitals…
Years ago, US Senator Richardson got white bread leftovers from high end hotels in NYC to feed his livestock. A few weeks later, the livestock got all sort of diseases and his chickens ceased to lay eggs!
Then the Senator made the following experiment: He took two groups of his livestock (pigs) and replaced the food for the first group with white bread. He fed the second group with whole wheat bread. The result of his observation was outstanding as the pigs got sick and died in a three month period while nothing happened to the second group.
Anyone could wonder whether it is truly unhealthy to eat white bread and if so, why do we still eat it and why are we so uninformed about the bad that it causes. Well, have you heard of the story of the woman who would always cut a piece of meat before putting the pan in the oven? When asked why she did that, she responded that she didn’t know, she would only do it because she saw her own mother doing it. Until one day someone asked her mother why. The mother went on to explain that: “yes, I always used to cut a piece of meat before placing the pan in the oven, because the pan was too small”. So, if you think of this example, as really crazy -by the way it is described in the book of the famous US researcher Linda Clark “Stay young longer” - we reach to the conclusion that people imitate each other, without researching, just like sheep, irrespective of whether something is good or bad for them. So I think I may convince you for the dangers of white bread and I can assure you that there are millions of people all over the world who researched and changed their diets to whole wheat bread with grains grown without chemical fertilizers and pesticides and some of them declare that: the whiter the bread, the shorter the life.
